What I Wore - Neon Casual

Sorry, I've been MIA lately!
Life gets so busy sometimes and as much as I enjoy blogging,
it's one of those things I do if and when I have time!!

Outfit Details:
Grey Shirt (Old) - Joe Fresh
Lace Back Boyfriend Tank Top - American Eagle - this color is not online
Jeans - American Eagle Skinny Jeans (color: Antique Destroy) - Worn cuffed!
Flats (Old) -  Joe Fresh
Scarf - Suzy Shier (Old) - It's a large square scarf thats been folded that way!
Watch - Guess - from husband
My SIL wants me to admit to the fact that I wear a watch only for looks.....you see the battery in my watch has been dead for the last year and half!!
Yes, that's right I've been wearing a watch that doesn't work,
but isn't that what my phone's for, to tell me the time?!
In my defense I love that watch and I would wear it whether it was working or not
AND
I have recently got new batteries!!!
Shamballa Bracelet - gift from husband
(P.S I just like the style of the bracelet, the meaning behind these bracelets make no difference to me)
Pyramid Neon Bracelet - Forever 21

Lipstick - Essence - Shade: Like A Lady (fuschia pink)
The Essence brand makeup is new to Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart carries it! I have to say for $2.49 I am really impressed! The lipstick is creamy, nicely pigmented and stays on well!
I will definitely be picking up a couple more of these!

A Few Of My Favorite Things - Month of March 2012

Here's my list of Favorites for March!

Book:
Game of Thrones: A Song of Fire and Ice Series  - Clash of Kings (book 2)
It's definitely a more challenging read and I find it's taking longer to get through then some of the other books I've recently read, but I'm really enjoying it, nonetheless!

Movie:
The Hunger Games Movie
Loved it, Go see it if you haven't already, better yet read the books and then go see the movie!!

Clothes:
Aldo - Catugno Ankle Boots in Taupe (no longer available)
I've pretty much worn these boots every other day since buying them, I think they've already paid for themselves! They are extremely versatile and surprisingly very comfy! I wear heels shopping quite often, but always have a back-up pair of flats in my car just in case, I've not had to change out of these yet!

 Shopping:
Ebay! For jewelery, scarves and kids clothes
I've never been much of an Ebay buyer until lately, you can really amp up your jewelery and scarf collection without spending a lot on Ebay! It's also great for unique kids clothes! I've only purchased items so far via the "buy it now" option, but who knows maybe I'll graduate to bidding on things yet!

Health Care:
Orabrush Tongue Cleaner - his and hers and tongue foam
This whole concept of cleaning ones tongue is not a new idea, in fact regular tongue cleaning helps reduce the bacterial build-up, food debris, fungi, and dead cells from the surface of the tongue. This bacteria and fungi that grows on ones tongue contributes to many common oral and general health problems as well as halitosis (bad breath). Check out more info here.
Let's just say that the first time I used my Orabrush tongue cleaner, I was disgusted by the nasty stuff (for lack of a better word) that came off my tongue (sorry tmi) and it's not like I hadn't cleaned my tongue before, I brushed it with my toothbrush like the rest of you!
Thanks to my new tongue cleaner I no longer have a potty mouth!!

You can buy them at London Drugs (in Canada) or online here

  Food:
Fresh Fruit - especially mango's, pineapple & avocado (yes, they're a fruit)

Greek Yogurt -  I have tried Liberte & Oikos brands and both are good!
I'm really loving Greek yogurt, it's much healthier then regular yogurt, it has substantially more protein, less sodium, fewer carbohydrates, and more calcium then your standard yogurts and it's much tastier, in my opinion!
I eat it every morning with dried cranberries, a bit of granola and some fresh fruit!
You can put Greek yogurt on just about anything!
It's a healthy substitute for whip cream and I LOVE whip cream you know the authentic 33% fat, made from scratch whip cream that I call heaven, surprisingly I don't miss my whip cream.....that much!
Put it on a graham wafer with a bit of chocolate pudding, Oh yeah!
Use the plain kind as a substitute for sour cream!
Use it on your pancakes, waffles or crepes!
It's endless!

 Make-up:
Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara (Very Black)
This mascara is like fake lashes in a tube! Apply a couple coats to your upper and lower lashes and voila!

Music:
Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men

These songs will have you singing in your hairbrush and sliding around in your underwear....not that I do that!

Home Decor:
Quilts Etc.- Stella Green Coverlet set
I am such a perfectionist, it took me forever to find a quilt for my eldest daughters bed, but after months and months of searching I found this one at quilts etc. I am so happy with it! The colors are beautiful and match perfectly with her room and it's something she can grow into, I have a fear of things looking juvenile!

Old Barn Rescue Company
Wall Decal  - "laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, dreams are forever" Tinkerbell
This is another item for my daughters room, she has one large wall that needed filling and I was becoming frustrated since I couldn't find anything large enough to fill the space.
I'm always a bit hesitant with wall decals as I feel they can look cheap if you not careful, but I found this one and it was the perfect size and the quote is absolutely adorable!

Note: I have NOT been paid, sponsored or given any of the above items. All items have been purchased by me, with my own money!
All opinions stated are 100% mine!

Spring 2012 Wish List

Tis the season to leave your color comfort zone!
Leave your black, browns and navy's hanging in your closet and grab neon pink, mint green, bright yellows & coral instead!
If your a little shy, then just add a pop of bright color to your outfit with the accessories you choose!
Add a hot pink belt to a beige dress or a pair of bright yellow shoes!
Embrace you feminine side, wear floral's and polka dot prints, bows and lace!
Oh and don't forget to put on a gold bracelet or two or three, add in a couple neon rhinestone friendship bracelets and call it a day!!

*you know that old fashion rule that says: "take off one piece of jewelry before heading out the door", well this season it's more like: "add one more piece of jewelery before heading out the door"!!

What I Wore - Same Shoes, Different Day!

I picked up this pink lace trimmed tunic the other day at F21 and I love it, the lace detail is perfect for spring & summer, it has a corset type front and the back is longer then the front! I thought it would be nice with a pair of destroyed denim shorts or cuffed jeans in the summer as well, but for now I'll have to pair it with a jacket!
The jean jacket is old, a couple years at least! I'm not one of those people who believes that if
"you haven't worn it in a year, you should donate it"!
If your clothes no longer fit properly or are damaged then yes, by all means donate it or throw it out!
Otherwise, store it until you can reuse it!
(I store clothes for 2-3 years and then I re-evaluate it)

From Pinterest to Plate - Stawberry Dream Dessert!

I pinned this delectable dessert the other day from The Kitchen
dosen't it make your mouth water!?

it's called the No-Bake Strawberry Icebox Cake.....
 but
I thought it should have a more romantic name something like

Strawberry Dream Dessert!

I don't just pin things for fun I actually make them too
like these (my new favorite cookie)
&
these (the best sweet potatoes EVER)
 &
these (my kids LOVE them, perfect for school lunches)!
 &
so many others!

Here's my Strawberry Dream Dessert!

Not only is it dreamy to eat & look at, but it's dreamy to make as well!

Check out the recipe at TheKitchen

It's probably not the most low-fat recipe,
but it has fruit in it.....
that counts right!?

What I Wore - Do The Cuff & Roll

I love the look of cuffed jeans worn with ankle boots or any kind of shoe for that matter(check this out)!
I have pinned and re-pinned countless pictures of outfits with rolled-up/cuffed jeans!
&
then one day it finally hit me.....
I LOVE cuffed jeans,
it's funny how these things don't always occur to you!

March Glymm Box - 2012 edition

It's that time of the month again.....Glymm box time I mean!

 Here's my March box:

Products:
M.Asam Vino Gold - Magic Fini - Sample size 5 ml/0.169 fl.oz. - $6.33 (FS - 30ml/$38)
The color of this foundation had me a bit apprehensive at first since its so dark, but once applied the color does fade a bit and it is meant to leave you with a sunkissed glow. I think I may hold on to this one until summer when I'm a bit darker and have a natural tan. It does have a floral "fake tan" smell to it, which I'm not fond of! The consistency is quite thick and creamy and you do have to rub it in well. This would not be a product that I would purchase for myself, it just didn't have me at hello!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Hydrafull Gloss in Sorbet - Sample size: 1.0ml/0.03 fl.oz .-$12.27 (FS 2.2ml/$27)
I like this gloss, the color I received is a beautiful bright coral/fuchsia, perfect for spring and summer! The applicator is strange, a hard plastic paddle, but it does do a decent job of getting the product on your lips! It doesn't smell or taste like anything, which is good! Despite the fact that Anastasia says the gloss is not sticky, I found it to be quite thick and sticky, but it does have good staying power. The box says its suppose to help "maximize and maintain lip hydration and fullness" I guess we'll see!

Nu.Me - Feather Hair Extension in Green - Full Sized - $25.00
I appreciate that Glymm has included a very different sample, the concept of this hair feather extension is very cool! I wish that I had received a different color, there is just something about the color green in my hair that does not appeal to me at all!Maybe I'll wear it for St. Patrick's Day!!
Nu.Me's website does have a picture tutorial on how to apply the extensions, check it out here
(Just click on  "How to Use")

Ocean Nail Polish - 386 Party Girl - Full Sized - $12.00
The color is a light pink/nude with a darker pink shimmer. It goes on very sheer and would definitely need a couple of coats. It's okay, but there are other brands/colors that I would rather spend my money on!

Bonus Item: Burt's Bee's Milk & Honey Body Lotion - Sample Size - 7ml/0.25 oz.
I received these same samples in my January box and was not impressed with them. I don't know if my samples had gone bad, but they smelled pretty awful! I'm a little leery of opening these, but I hate to waste them since they are a nice moisturizer. I'll just spray myself afterwards with LOTS of vanilla body spray!!

Total worth of March box - $55.60 (not including the bonus items)

Overall:
I didn't hate the March box, I didn't love it either, but that is the risk of beauty sample boxes!

A Few Of My Favorites Things - Month of Feburary 2012

I've compiled a list of my newest or renewed favorite items, from make-up to food and everything in between!

1. Slatkin & Co.Candles - Flower Shop & Lilac Blossom -  Bath & Body Works
If you love floral scents then these are perfect, I love lilac's, love, love, LOVE them! This Lilac blossom candle smells exactly like the real thing! Flower Shop smells well like a flower shop! It's a mix of sweet lilac, pink freesia and hyacinth, very floral, very lovely!! My house smells like spring!

2. Lush Mint Juleps Lip Scrub - Exfoliate your lips with this tasty (it's edible!) lip scrub, leaves you with the softest lips! Follow it up with a good coating of eos lip balm (or whatever is your favorite), it's like a match made in heaven!
Goodbye flaky lips!

3. eos Lip Balm - this has been one of my favorites for awhile now, its 95% organic & 100% natural, smells amazing, goes on silky smooth and does what it's suppose to do!

4. Loreal Pro Manicure Nail Polish - Color is Don't Wait Up
Such a beautiful deep pinkish plum color!

5. Seychelles Nola Braid Sandals - Anthropologie - I've lost sleep over these shoes, couldn't stop thinking about them, now they're mine....all mine and I can finally get a good nights sleep!!
(FYI: These sandals also known as Seychelles Snap Dragon)

6. I've never been much of a tea drinker, but lately I've gotten into drinking tea, cause it's healthy and all! I recently bought this Celestial Seasoning Lemon Zinger, oh it's good!

7. Guylian Belgian Chocolates -It has to be the assorted box, NOT the seashells, I've had the seashells before and I didn't love them, but my mother-in-law brought a box of the assorted Guylian chocolates, there are no words for how much I loved them. I've had to limit myself to only 1 chocolate per day, I pretty much count down the minutes to afternoon coffee break!

8.Chrysanthemum Stud Earrings - from Made By LinLin , These little earrings are so fun & are an easy way to add a pop of color to any outfit! Plus they are made in Vancouver BC, Canada!

9. Dried Cranberries - FROZEN! They are so good when they are frozen, like candy!
Did you know: "Dried cranberries are being studied for possible health uses: fighting bacterial infections, cardiovascular benefits, immune system strengthening, and anti-cancer properties. Dried cranberries are even suspected of helping fight tooth decay!" Cranberries are also high in Vitamin C and antioxidant!
Can't go wrong!!

10. Across The Universe - Beth Revis - A good mindless read!
"A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder. When Amy is frozen aboard the interstellar spaceship Godspeed, she expects to be woken in 300 years on a new planet. Instead, someone wakes her up early…and if Amy doesn’t figure out soon, the next people woken up might not survive–including her parents."

11. The husband and I recently saw The Grey, we both really enjoyed it, definitely had us sitting on the edge (jumping out) of our seat!
"Live and Die on This Day"

I hope you like my little list of favorites for January/February, I'm gonna try and do a favorites list for every month!

What are some of your favorite things!?

PS. This is not a sponsored post, I bought and paid for all of these items on my own!
